Gutted yesterday as our quest for 5 winning safe trebles in a row finally came to an end thanks to Molde conceding a last minute goal and Shamrock Rovers didn’t help matters either. But today there is a feast of football across the World and we’re starting in Scandinavia. Hopefully I’ll get the time to do a few trebles today from different regions, but I am starting in one of my favourite places to punt!

1) Stromgodset vs Rosenborg (Norwegian Tippaligaen, 5PM)
We start in Norway despite the disappointments of last night as not only do we hit one of my favourite leagues, but one of my favourite teams in Stromgodset. I’ve been doing some research and following over the pre-season specifically in the youth setup over at Stromgodset and have scrubbed up on my Norwegian knowledge. Tonight the boys take on a decent side in Rosenborg and both are tipped for big things this season. These were the top 2 in 2013 and I expect both to be there or thereabouts come the end of the season. Their last meeting here at the Marienlyst finished 2-2 last season and I’m expecting much of the same today, to a certain extent. Both sides have been in real goalscoring form so far this campaign with Stromgodset having scored a total of 14 goals in 5 home games and Rosenborg scoring 7 goals in 5 away and with both scoring in 100% of their home/away games respectively. This really does have the look of goals about it and with Stromgodset having won 5 from 5 at home this season and outscoring everyone who has travelled here, I like the look of a nudge on the win as well.

2) Traeff vs Nardo (Norwegian Division 2, Group 2, 3PM)
Now we’re really hitting the dizzy depths of lower league Nordic football as we head to the Norwegian 2nd division game between Traeff and Nardo and I’m expecting a goal fest here. Their 2 meetings last season finished 3-1 and 4-1. Traeff’s 5 games this season have finished 1-1, 2-2, 2-3, 2-5 and 3-2 whereas Nardo’s 5 games have finished 2-2, 1-0, 0-0, 6-1 and 2-1. Yes there was a bit of a lull on Nardo’s part there in the middle but the good news is that if you span back to last season, 9 of their last 10 away from home have resulted in both teams finding the net. Just expect goals here and plenty of them.

3) Elfsborg vs Orebro (Swedish Allsvenskan, 3PM)
The best home record in the Swedish Allsvenskan this year belongs to Elfsborg. They’ve played 4 games so far here at the Boras Arena and have won all 4 games scoring 11 goals in the process and today they aim to make that 5 against an Orebro side who have only collected 1 away win this season in their first game against a slow out of the blocks Halmstad side. They’ve lost their last 2 on their travels and are yet to keep a clean sheet away from home either. Elfsborg have won 4 of their last 5 home league meetings with Orebro and another win today looks on the cards as Elfsborg look to maintain the pressure on a Malmo side who are already 5 points clear at the top of the league. Orebro have been hit and miss since their promotion from the Suprettan last season and against a side of this quality I expect them to struggle.
